Traverse offers multi-day running holidays through some of New Zealand's most breathtaking landscapes.
Our small-group adventures are built for runners who love to explore - combining epic scenery with genuine Kiwi hospitality. We've handpicked unique lodges and backcountry huts on working farms and high-country stations to create a runner's playground like no other.
Our runs are social and relaxed, with plenty of time to soak in the views and connect with fellow adventurers. We handle all the logistics - from accommodation to meals - so you can focus on the experience and rack up those extra KMs.
Passionate adventurers and travel experts dedicated to creating your perfect journey

Director of Good Times & Big Climbs
Andy's been running for as long as he can remember - from school cross-country to staying fit for football. While football was his main sport, running was always the constant, especially on the trails where the quiet, challenge, and views pulled him in (yes, even the hills).
He's ticked off a few marathons over the years - London, Auckland, and Queenstown – and has his sights set on his first ultra soon. Every year, you'll also find him at the 4 Paws Half alongside Molly, his four-legged trail buddy, who's just as keen on the hills as he is.
Traverse was born from a simple idea - to create the kind of trips I'd want to go on: good runs in epic places, shared with great people, without the pressure. When you join a Traverse trip, I want it to feel like running with mates - relaxed, welcoming, and full of stories, laughs, and maybe a few lung-busting climbs along the way
Head of HR and Trail Tester
Molly isn't just part of the Traverse team - she is the team. As our Head of HR and official Trail Tester, Molly brings boundless energy, unshakable morale, and an unmatched love for the outdoors.
She's covered more trail kilometres than most humans, and her keen nose for a good route (and a good snack) keeps us all on track. Molly reminds us what Traverse is really about - joy, freedom, movement, and a bit of mud along the way.

Head of Operations, Systems & Sanity
While the trails are where we run, Cory is the reason everything else runs. As Head of Technology and Operations at Traverse, she's the quiet engine behind the scenes, designing the website, sorting the bookings, managing the chaos, and keeping the wheels turning (and the Wi-Fi working).
Cory brings a rare mix of calm efficiency, problem-solving magic, and a knack for turning to-do lists into "done." She's the digital glue that holds the adventure together, making sure everything looks good, works well, and feels seamless for our team and our guests.
Without Cory, the trails might still be there - but no one would know how to book them.
To boost wellbeing by connecting runners with wild landscapes - creating unforgettable (and slightly sweaty) adventures.
We believe in experiencing the real Aotearoa through movement, local hospitality, and low-impact exploration that supports both nature and the people who live and work in these special places.
These core principles guide everything we do and every adventure we create
It's human nature to explore. To seek out new destinations, to challenge ourselves, and to grow through experience. As runners, we're always on the lookout for the next adventure or the next version of ourselves. Traverse brings together our love for running and the outdoors in some of the most stunning places imaginable. And the best way to do that? With expert guides and a small group of fellow explorers.
Running is better together. Our tours are about more than just moving in single file along the trail. We share the highs and lows (literally), encourage and support each other, and finish the day with shared meals, good conversation, and maybe a sunset drink or two. You'll arrive as strangers and leave as a crew.
Every Traverse trip is shaped by people. The runners you share the trail with, and the locals who welcome you in. We connect like-minded travellers and celebrate the spirit of those who lace up and show up. You'll also get to meet the station owners, guides, and hosts who are just as committed to your experience as we are.
This one goes without saying. We believe adventure is a state of mind - equal parts excitement, curiosity, and courage. Whether you're crossing a swing bridge, navigating a backcountry trail, or just stepping outside your comfort zone, adventure is what we do best.
